ROTISSERIE KIT, SPIRIT 200/300 SERIES

I had the same experience as the other reviewer in that the motor only hummed when turned on. I pulled it apart and reseated the parts and it worked! This is apparently a quality control issue. Weber simply must test these units before sending them out for sale! The rotisserie works very well now, and Weber did take the time the next day to respond to my issue. This item does have a 2 year warranty, but the price is very high $88 over the internet.

Weber reviews and takes each comment into consideration and we are always working to improve our products. Thank you for taking the time to comment. If you have any further questions, please contact Weber Customer Service at 1-800-446-1071.

Superior Rotisserie

My rotisserie experience with Weber got of to a rocky start because the motor assembly housing was broken. The people at ACE hardware replaced it that day. I didn't test the new one until 2 months later only to discover that it didn't turn, the motor just hummed. I called Weber customer service and got a "no-questions-asked" replacement in the mail in three days. That was excellent customer service!! Today I am making rotisserie chicken. My old "big box store" universal rotisserie worked but owing to backlash in the drive mechanism, there was a substantial pause between the time the heavy side of the chicken dropped and the mechanism picked up the slack. This resulted in an overcooked side of the chicken. I solved the problem with a carpenters wood clamp which I tightened against the handle to keep constant pressure on the mechanism. That was after I replaced the cheap plastic handle with one I welded from steel tubing and two hex nuts so the skewer that was strong enough to withstand the resistance without stripping the threads. The Weber rotisserie is much higher quality. No backlash in the mechanism so the chicken rotates without pauses. I couldn't be happier. Why of why didn't I buy a Weber gas grill and rotisserie years ago?
