I have an Spirit E320 and installed this light in June 2015. I believe I am a better than average do it your-self-er but this install was challenging and took a lot of fussing around. I think I used the correct bracket but regardless, the unit is not snug on the handle and with not much effort, it will partially rotate and rather easily pop off.
4 Months later, without the instructions in hand, I needed to figure out what was wrong with what appeared to be the batteries. I think the average person would end up removing the unit and unscrewing the four screws covering the battery compartment. Even with the cover open, I did not find it obvious to see how the designed battery removal operated. The batteries had dislodged probably from the unit popping off an hitting the floor and I was able to get them back in and screw the cover down.
The automatic vs. manual setting switch is not intuitively marked and without the manual, hard to even guess. Speaking of manuals, I entered my serial number in the Weber web site to get a PDF copy but there was no match in October 2015 - 4 months after purchase.
I guess if one were to weather proof the instructions somehow and place them on the wall next to the Grill, operating and maintaining this light would not be that bad. I would rather have something that easily installs in less than 5 minutes and intuitive enough so that anyone with common sense could operate it without having to be trained or educated by the documentation
Hi, Thank you for your feedback regarding your handle light. We'll be sure to get it to the right people. Thanks!
